Lady Edna M. Owens
Edna M. Owens is an anointed Exhorter of the Word,
Teacher, and a respected Ministry Consultant. She is
a member of the Baptist Convention of the District
of Columbia and Vicinity, where she serves on the
Executive Board and is Vice President at Large of the
Convention Women’s Auxiliary. She is a member of
the Progressive National Baptist Convention and
represents the women of the Progressive churches
and serves as a Key Leader in the Northeast Region
Women’s Department. Lady Owens is an instructor
for the Washington Baptist Seminary in the School of
Certification. She leads the Family Life Program and
lectures monthly in the school’s Chapel service. She is
a member of the Abyssinia Baptist Church in Capitol
Heights, Maryland, where she is active in Women’s
Ministry and Christian Education. |
Rev. Dr. Willie T. Lawson
Rev. Dr. Willie T. Lawson is a native of Summerton, SC.
Upon completion of high school, he joined the United
States Army in 1973 where he served his country
diligently for 20 years. He retired in July 1993. His twenty
years of military service include five years on the National
Security Council Staff at the White House, where he was
privileged to serve in three Presidential administrations,
under the following Presidents: Reagan, Bush and three
months under Clinton, respectively. Rev. Lawson is
married to the former Mattie Mae Lawson. They are the
parents of two children, Anthony and Telia. He is the
Pastor of the Mount Paran Baptist Church in Washington,
DC, where he has served faithfully since June 1989. |
Rev. John J. Nicholas
Rev. John J. Nicholas, Jr. is Pastor of St. John’s Baptist
Church of Arlington, Virginia. He is a graduate of the
Washington Baptist Seminary and holds an honorary
Doctor of Divinity Degree from the Richmond Virginia
Seminary. He is affiliated with the Northern Virginia
Baptist Association, the Lott Carey Foreign Mission
Board, the D. C. Baptist Convention and the Progressive
National Baptist Convention, Inc. Rev. Nicholas is
also a member of the Executive Board of the Baptist
Convention of the District of Columbia, Trustee of the
Washington Baptist Seminary and Life Member of the
NAACP. |

Rev. John l. McCoy, D. Min.
Reverend John L. McCoy is the proud pastor of
The Word of God Baptist Church in Washington,
DC. He is president of the Washington Baptist
Seminary and serves on its Board of Trustees.
He serves as a board member of the Baptist
Convention of the District of Columbia and
Vicinity, a member of the Advisory Board of the Stoddard Baptist
Home, member of the Missionary Baptist Ministers’ Conference of
DC and Vicinity, member of the Potomac River Baptist Association,
and affiliated with the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. He
is an author, poet, playwright and a respected facilitator/trainer of
Deacons and in Men’s Ministry. He is a graduate of The Washington
Baptist Seminary, Richmond Virginia Seminary, and Howard
University School of Divinity. |
Rev. Willette O. Wright
Rev. Wright is an ordained minister at From
the Heart Church Ministries, Inc. where
her professional positions include Church
Administrator: Director of Curriculum,
Professional Development and Training;
Principal for the From the Heart Christian
School; Executive Advisor to the Pastor. She has served as a Retreat
and Enrichment Class speaker as well as an instructor with the
Steven K. Wright School of Ministry. She currently serves as an
Adjunct Professor with Strayer University and Argosy University
and is a Consultant for business education. |
